Re: O-200 Air Filter Alignment

Some people have tried to make a wedge to align the filter. Installing between the carburetor and the airbag. I've had some success in installation of added shim washers on the induction spider at the crankcase mount studs. A small width if baffling material can help to close the area between the fi...

Re: KHTO Needs Your Help

If the complaining party has filed a noise nuisance complaint, some States allow a third party to file this real estate concern. At sale, the seller needs to disclose all complaints on their property. If there is a noise complaint or a safety concern, the buyer needs to be informed of this situation...

Re: Fuel octane

I used to use 100LL because it was the only fuel available. I don't use Mogas at all. With the new Swift fuel available, the 94UL, I can recommend it. I haven't seen any ill effects from it's use, plugs look good and very little, if any lead build-up. The GAMI fuel has an STC for it's use, but no di...

Re: E-113 engine information

Peter,

Would you have any information on the Morehouse engine. I have a WM-80 I'm working on. I have some E-113 stuff if you are trying to find all of the engines.

I just did some research on this and all of it pointed to Form 337 modifications. I wasn't able to come up with any factory support for this modification.

Continental Maintenance and Overhaul Manual. Page 31 item (6). Fresno has oversized inserts listed, if needed. Don't drill the locking pin too deep.

Re: Chief brakes discs and pucks

Ed,

There's no new supplier out there for these parts. If you know the items you need you can find some new parts on the secondary market. Get a list of the items you use and you can generally find a few parts here and there.

The copper are the set I like to use. The stainless shim gaskets will leak if you install them improperly.

Re: a65 exhaust stack failure

The Service Help and Hints #25 covers this.

Check with the aerospace welding shops and Univair.

Copper asbestos gaskets come in the overhaul gasket kit. Check with Fresno.

The beading should nest together, two per cylinder.

Re: a65 exhaust stack failure

They happen pretty regular. Grab the stack on preflight and wiggle it, should be no crunching noise. There is an early AD on this problem. Go to the stainless stack and you should be good, no AD on them. Stay away from Wag-Errors stuff, they break quite often. The no-blo gaskets are good but pretty ...

Re: how to start A65

Pull it through about 8 blades until you hear a sucking sound from the carburetor. Throttle to idle and prop it. If it kicks back prime it some more, if it fails to do anything it's too rich and needs to be cleared. Not a big fan of cracking the throttle, I adjust mine to start at idle RPM with the ...

One of the problems is that these are McDowell drawings and may not be covered in the Aeronca drawing lists.
