Sounds almost double the price from the other approved suppliers on spars. I know this man has a good reputation but I can live with the "cheap" spruce of Rainbow or Wag Aero.

Defender rigging question.

I have a friend that is not a member of this board(in fact he don't compute at all) that is rebuilding a set of Defender wings. He has done a very nice job and is installing leading edges this weekend. Do any of you Defender guys know if there is washout in the Defender? He cannot find anything in r...

I'm sure others will agree, it's going to be a shame to cover up all that beautiful work. I always look forward to your progress posts.

Nice repair and it saves one more Aeronca fuselage from heading for the boneyard.

I second that on the Aviation Products tailwheel. I had the single fork on a Pitts for 280 hours. They have some other good products as well. I like their little magazine they publish, good reading for 14 dollars a year.

I like and use T 88 and see no problem as well. In regard to the forstner bits they are like a lot of tooling available, they are subject to size variance's like any other tooling on the market. I have some real cheap chinese bits that are for hogging on non aviation projects and some well made euro...

This is not good news, Mike was the go to guy on the Aeronca. I wonder how much rearranging of the deck chairs is going on at Wag Aero. They have sold one of their Cub prototypes and the Sportsman 2+2 was on barnstormers recently. I know these economic tough times are just getting started.

Thanks, I have heard of it just never used it. In addition to it's protective qualities I like the looks of it.

All I have to add to this thread is my disdain for the TSA. I get tired of them "just doing their job". After 28 years in the 121 flying business post 911 I became part of the Taliban to them. There is not enough room on this board to relate all the stupid stories I could tell, most of my ...

Thanks for posting that. I'm in need of ribs. If a builder was to use all Univair ribs then it seems like you would have this problem at each rib. Replacement ribs are way to expensive to have to work on them after you get them.

Dusty, you would want the spring gear over the "cub style" hydrosorb type gear that's available in AK? Those Citabria gear legs are a heavy slab of steel on each side. Now if you could use the new type aluminum gear that is comes on the new American Champions that would be much lighter. Ha...

Bob K, Thanks for your reply. My ship is orginal '47 7AC. I have a C-90-14. I don't plan on a charging system but will have the capability to run a GPS and comm. off of an Odyssey 680. I had this same engine in an EAA Biplane with a starter and never ran out of juice even after about 30 starts and r...
