Yes Dusty you are correct. Mine are set at 1 degree. One of my tabs had the hole drilled about 1/8 inch different from the other one and it was very noticable how the ski hung from the plane.
It only took us a couple hours to rig properly and that included replacing the cables.

Ski Cables
I installed a "new" set of Federal 1500s on my champ last week. I was told they were rigged for a champ but my mechanic wanted to double check to make sure they were correct. We mounted the skis on the plane and hoisted it until the skis were off the ground with the plane in a level attitu...

Mine took a little over a year...
but I worked at it every spare moment I had and I wasn't making a show plane. I was making a plane that I didn't mind if a little blood got on the floor boards. I know a guy who rebuilt a Champ in just over two months but he worked on the plane for 12+ hours per day and he took a bunch of vacation t...

Bush Champs
I am amazed at the performance of my Champ every time I take it out in the bush. I have a 7ac converted with a Lycoming O235 engine, extended baggage which I purchased as a project 4 years ago. Yesterday I took my 15 year old son duck hunting on the mud flats. Before we departed I paced off the &quo...

Spar jig
I learned the hard way how important it is to make sure the spar fittings match the airplane. Mine were about a 32nd of an inch off and it was very difficult for 4 large grown men to attach my left wing. A wing is not something you want to reef on to make it fit!

Enlarged baggage
I bought a project that had the cables rerouted under the baggage area and when I installed the torque tube the cable rubbed hard against the bottom of part 2-817 (aluminum arm). I changed back to the original drawing only to discover after it was covered that on later models (7ECA)the part #2-817 w...

carburetors
I ran into the same problem as you did when I was looking for a carb for my o235. The first place I would check is the TC for the engine, it should have the different carbs listed, also look at an engine parts manual. In the Lycoming manual they tell what carbs can go on the engine, I don't know if ...

Max crosswind
Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies. The reason I was asking was yesterday I was out with an instructor who is one of the best tailwheel pilots around (he is in his mid 80s). We were landing in a direct cross wind 18kts, gusting to 24kts. He thought the max crosswind was 20kts so we didn't do too many. ...

Those fittings are called Waterbury eyelets. Don't ask me where to get them, I think they are scarce as hen's teeth.
