Re: Starting the Champ Project , Part 2
I tested my fuel tank by cutting up an old inner tube at the valve stem, clamping it to the filler neck with a radiator clamp, and attached a balloon to the outlet. I pumped up the tank enough to inflate the balloon with a bicycle pump (NOT AN AIR COMPRESSOR). The balloon remained inflated after 5 m...

Core Cylinders C85
I have a set of core cylinders from C-85 with all parts except rockers. Removed from a core (crash) engine that had decent compressions on it's last annual. They are 15 over chrome and the bores are in decent shape. $350 plus actual shipping cost (OBO). If interested, I can send pics. Thanks, Brian ...

Re: DeRegistration of Aeroncas
A fellow I knew in Texas several years ago had a Chief on a trailer ready for re-build. He Assembled it (hung a borrowed engine and prop) then photographed it, explaining that is was "stripped and ready for re-cover". They sent him an AW cert. He was convinced that if he left it in pieces,...

UPDATE. The Challenger filter requires some modification to fit my airbox. Am building a couple of adaptors to allow installation.

Re: brackette
Sorry, thinking Challenger, wrote Champion. Just received mine from Spruce. Looks beautiful (if an air filter can look beautiful). Challenger PN CP-1150. Spruce part #08-00843 $205

Re: brackette
Why do that when you can get a K&N (Champion) for a Champ. Couple of hundred bucks at Spruce. I changed the Brackett to a K&N on my Bonanza years ago and picked up a full inch of MP.

Re: Graphics, Stickers, Decals, Logos, Lettering...
Sorry, I haven't gotten back to you sooner. Haven't checked this in a while. Those are really neat, and very close, but not exactly what I had in mind. I will make an effort to find a pic of the one I've seen and get back to you. Thanks again for your effort.

I believe he had a flat top. Been years since I've seen it.

Re: Graphics, Stickers, Decals, Logos, Lettering...
Thanks for the response, I truly understand, being a small business owner and manufacturer, I understand the cost of creating something. Actually, I'm not sure the little guy was wearing a glove? Saw it years ago and should have ordered then, just thought it looked really neat! Thanks again, and bes...

Re: Graphics, Stickers, Decals, Logos, Lettering...
Have you seen, or do you (hopefully) make the decal of the little tough guy wearing a boxing glove and says "the Champ"?
Thanks,

Re: Bah Humbug
A typical story about harbor fright tools. I am in the sheet metal business, years ago we had a project that required thousands of pop rivets. Our pneumatic gun quit right when we started. Out of desperation, I ran to HF and bought two, assuming the first one would crap out. It didn't, and to my ama...

Re: Flyin' Da Champ at 10K DA
I wondered if someone would notice that. I had flown twice previously that day, most recent flight 1/2 hr prior to the film flight.
Previous run up was fine (as it always is) and I decided to pass it by to shorten the dull part of the video.

Flyin' Da Champ at 10K DA
Well, been a little over a year since I first flew the Champ, got 100 hours on it now, all with a big grin on my face. Recently checked AWOS and the density altitude was 10,100' so I figured it was a perfect day to go flying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_amosYH-Ck&feature=youtu.be Brian Wal...

Thanks Mike,
Been watching e-bay, but hadn't spotted that one yet. Wrong part number, but I bought it anyhow; worth taking a chance. I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks again,
Brian
