Re: Champ N83406 For Sale - 85-12 w. starter -SOLD -

Sold for $25,000. Price was probably too low as I had many interested parties. The fellow that purchased N83406 is from San Angelo, TX. I'm sure you will here from Mike P. in the future. The Champ was a lot of fun. I really hated to give it up.

Champ N83406 For Sale - 85-12 w. starter

I've decided to buy a Sky Arrow and have listed my Champ for sale on Barnstormers & Ebay. The price is $25,000. For inspection and flight time, call John @ 702-686-6660. It's hangared in Pahrump, NV but I can get it over to the Henderson Executive (HND) on short notice. Forgot to mention. This i...

Cost. Having someone refabric a Champ?

Has anyone gotten an estimate from a reputable AP for recovering a Champ/Chief? Minus the final paint, I'm curious as to what people are charging to do this? On Barnstormers there is a fellow in Ohio that claims he will recover a Champ. He says his shop rate is $30. per hour. Sounds pretty reasonabl...

Re: Sky-tec versus B&C Starter Recommendation sought

I looked at both. IMHO the B&C is a better quality unit. Customer support is also A plus. I'm not sure of the price difference. Very happy with mine in my 7AC. BTW. I did have to pull the engine (a little) to get the unit installed. At least on my plane their was not enough clearance. Not a big ...

SOLD - Champ - Airspeed indicator & turn &

I replaced the original airspeed indicator in my 7AC this summer. This airspeed indicator was working when removed. I wanted a new one that was cosmetically more appealing. I never was able to buy a new one. I had a used one rebuilt. The needle shakes like the "new one" does at the lower s...

My A&P talked to David Rude. He thought the oleo struts were probably fine. "Probably overfilled with fluid". The fact that they are not leaking anymore is a good sign. He recommended 8 1/2 ounces of fluid. Check to see if they leak after that.

Strut rebuilding

I seem to recall that someone rebuilds struts (bounce - no-bounce). My annual was just completed a few weeks ago. After about a week there was fluid on the floor of the shop. My A&P had put in the requisite amount of fluid in the struts the previous week during the annual. It had never leaked be...

7AC door handles

Did the 7AC come with door handles on each side of the door? Is the picture in the photo the original door handles offered for the Champ? Image

Wing spars & Univair ribs

I talked to Pete of Woodwing Specialty today. He just received some Russian spruce that is the very "best wood" he has seen in 32 years in working with wings. This may be old information to the forum, but he tells me that the cost of the finished spars (4) are about $3900. The completed wi...

Any particular strobe brands worth considering (for the tail)? I think it's a good idea! My aircraft has wiring already installed on the top of the vertical stabilizer.

Wing lift struts - how to check

What's the best method to check your wing lift struts? My annual is coming due in June.
