Excellent piece and I'm sure it reflects the way a lot of us feel about our service days.

Re: Trivia

1. At what age did you get the desire to fly? (I don't remember ever not wanting to fly). 2. At what age did you solo? (35 was busy with other commitments before that). 3. Type of plane you soloed in? (Luscombe 8F N9922C) 4. Hours to solo? (9.6 hours according to my log) 5. Favorite flying movies? (...

Re: Rant and Rave!!

Even Fidel Castro realizes that you cannot continue to grow government. He's just fired 10% of the government employees in Cuba, where 85% of the population are so "employed", at about $20/mo. But there are those (like Michael Moore...and maybe one or two here) who look to Cuba as a valid ...

Re: Passed my private pilot checkride last weekend.

After I got back I did a uh....go around/aborted landing....yeah...thats it. Better on the way back than during the checkride. Many years ago, I did a go around on my short-field landing during the checkride and figured I'd blown it right there, but the examiner passed me anyway. When he sig...

Re: Service Help and Hints #26

Good Morning Aeronca fans, We are about to change out our damaged firewall and nosebowl and need to perform the alterations in Service help and hints #26. I am looking for a copy of the drawings S-15 through S-18 and a copy of #26 if anyone has it. I have already tried aeronca.com and the links don...

Re: Aeronca L3 Type certificate

I wouldn't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I seem to recall several other attempts at successfully producing an affordable new aircraft; e.g., Aeronca in all its iterations, up to and including the 7ACA 2-cyl. I recall reading the reviews back in '71. I can't remember the projected cost, but it...
