Aeronca Sedan Gallery: 200+ Airframes!
Hi everybody, Our Aeronca Sedan gallery now contains more than 200 different airframes! This is owed, to a major part, to folks like you, to spotters around the globe, to accidental readers and to friends, who contributed their historic or current photographic material, information and memories. Als...

Re: Happy Flying in 2017!
Thanks Dik,
We live in Switzerland, but the picture was taken above the Croatian islands (southeastern Europe) on a flying trip in 2015. That was our first time flying wearing lifejackets.

Thanks Richard,
A real picture for a change, instead of another crazy Photoshop fantasy.

Re: Air / Oil Separator -> Engine Corrosion
Hi John and apologies for the late reply.
Sounds like an interesting solution. Would you mind posting or emailing a photo of the installation?
Thanks, Matt

Re: Air / Oil Separator -> Engine Corrosion
Yes, Dik, that is correct, thank you for the hint. I was in contact with Burl about such a kit, too. But his priority is now on getting the factory new AeroSedan ready for the market. I suspect, it will be a moment, before the winterization kit becomes available. I hope – and it looks promising – to...

Air / Oil Separator -> Engine Corrosion
Five years ago, shortly after the restoration of Sedan N1331H had been completed, I installed a simple air/oil separator to avoid the oily mess on the fuselage belly. It worked wonderfully and all that remained to be wiped off, from time to time, has been lead residue from the exhaust gases. Within ...

Re: Main power/starter relay failed?
Joe,
Let me know, if it worked out. Otherwise, I will check what type of relay I have in N1331H, next time I am at the hangar.

Aeronca Sedan Wing Ribs
Looks like all components to build new Sedan wings or to repair damaged wings should soon be available! A week ago, I received the first picture of the brand new wing rib dies from Burl. He wrote: "Not complete yet; one more to go but is presenting some problems that need to be worked out but s...

Re: LED or HID Landing & Taxi Lights?
We just completed the annual on our Sedan, but I postponed the LED issue (which really seems to only be a cosmetic issue during the cold season) to the warmer season in favor of some more important modifications. Sorry, Joe. I will post, as soon as I have results.

Thanks, Richard,
for posting the pictures! It's almost like walking through the lines of Aeroncas myself.
Hope, you all had a great time at Middletown 2016!
Best regards from Switzerland

Re: LED or HID Landing & Taxi Lights?
Joe, I have been using the LEDs for three years (200 flying hours, 40 hours LEDs on), now, without any problems except for the condensation issue described earlier in this thread. I will soon have to remove the landing light lens to clean the inside and will then try out the "remove 2 screws, s...
