I have researched several sites and the only thing I find is that when the cylinders were overhaul and I don't know who, the rocker bosses were not align properly when reamed for the brass bushing, thus the rocker arms do not align over the center of the valve...

I found a crack on front seat in the angled brace that connects to the bottom of seat and goes up to the seat back. Does anyone know what type material should be used to replace the tubing that has been flattened out on both ends and welded to the seat back and bottom? Or is there another fixed used...

When I bought my 7DC it had 62 SMOH on a C-85 with 0200 crank. Oil consumption was a quart every 4 hours on so I took Paul's advice and switched back to mineral oil for another 50 hours and ran it about 75 rpm below redline the entire 50hrs . Oil consumption went to a quart every 7 hrs and oil temps...

I am getting near the 500 hr. inspection mark on a set of Slick mags on my C-85. Anyone know of a good location to send them for this service? Is it generally worth it or is this a point when changing Mag, wires and plugs as a kit is more economical.

This Champ was landed by its owner in a soybean field here in eastern North Carolina 5 years ago after it ate a valve. No damage but new paint and an 85 with o2oo conversion and its flying again.
