Re: Oleo packing, how much to put?
Mine also leaked a little a first. Not sure how much actually leaked out, it was always in my plans to check but hardly flew last year so it is something I need to verify. Initially I never knew how much fluid to put in??? It said to fill them up and put the plug back on but when you put the weight ...

Larry,
Don't tease me with that 90 hp. They are hard to come by. I heard they are even a better performer than the 0-200!
Did yours come with the 90 hp or you had it put in?

Re: My 60 year old engine finally gave up! Need advice....
Hi Paul, Nice to hear from you! My engine has 1560 smoh and was running strong but tbo is approaching...and it is 60 years old. Pretty amazing when you think of it. My initial idea was to put new bearings but then I measured the crank. On cylinder position 1 & 2 the crank was 10 under and on pos...

My 60 year old engine finally gave up! Need advice....
Since I don't fly in the winter, I decided to pull the jugs off my A-65 to check overall condition of crank and cam and noticed one of the connecting rod was loose  . So here I am at a crossroad: rebuild the old engine or install a C-85. For those who have installed an 85 hp, what's involved? ...

Congratulations Josh, someone needs to fly us around when we can't anymore!
My wife is expecting, hope he or she will fall in love with the piece of history we have come to cherish.
All the best to Emery and your family.

Re: Stick Chief on Barnstormers?
Hi Marc,
You could probably fit comfortably in a Champ. I own one and I have taken people well over 6 feet up in it and they seemed to have enough space.
Try and find one and see if it fits you. Anything tadem should probably work.

Re: Cam wear plate on Cleveland brakes
Doc, If I am understanding your problem correctly  , I had the same a few years ago. With the brake cable disconnected and the airplane wheel off the ground, if you rotate the cam in the opposite direction as to normal braking does this lock up the wheel or can you still turn it by hand? I sim...

Re: Champ aux fuel tanks
Do the installation instruction provided with the kit specify where to cut the fabric in such a way to minimize repairs?
Does anyone have pictures they can post?
Larry, where did you get that 13 gallon tank? Cutting open one wing might be less work than both!
Thanks everyone for your replies.

Champ aux fuel tanks
 I would like to install some aux tanks on my Champ, the only ones I can find are from Wag at $ 795.95 and are FAA approved. Here is the description quoted from the catalog:  Aeronca Wing Kit : Model: SKU: E-476-000 Increase fuel capacity by 10 gallons. Simple installation. Kit comes co...

Re: Air box exhaust (Air Maze type)
I was working on my primer line that runs to my spider and I overprimed the engine, excess fuel drips to the front of the airbox and comes out under the airmaze filter. So besides air coming out from the bottom of the air box I don't think fuel will??

Re: Air box exhaust (Air Maze type)
Another option might be to weld the pipe on the airbox or would that eventually break off with the vibration?
I thought of attaching the exhaust pipe with a few srews but that might also come undone with the vibs and this might also lead to cracks...

Nate,
Thanks for your reply, hadn't seen it that way before. I guess I'll keep primig that spider!
