Re: Light sport upgrade
This is my dilemma... Purchase a decent 7AC now but run the risk of it dropping in value (in the near future) due to the medical exemption. If the medical exemption passes I anticipate a decrease in potential old tailwheel (e.g. 7AC) buyers and a lowering of price. As previously stated, it's getting...

Re: Light sport upgrade
Any speculation on how this change will impact the value of the Champs / Chiefs?

Good thread. I would only add that, fortunately, we have a member that represents the non-ambulance chasing lawyer’s guild

Re: New member in central Ohio
Jerry,
Sorry, I was remiss... my name is Larry Moss. I actually live about 5 miles north of Bolton Field (KTZR), south of Hilliard. Is the Champ you referred to the one Dr. Lewis is looking at?

Re: New member in central Ohio
Jerry,
The Champ that I mentioned I'm training in... it's yours!
In fact, I have it scheduled again for this Friday afternoon (working on my endorsement with Dan). That is one nice bird. It is exactly what I'm looking for in a Champ.

Re: New member in central Ohio
Okay, you’ve piqued my curiosity… Why are Chiefs faster given the wider fuselage? Also, does the fuselage fuel tank impact the handling (since it’s behind the center of gravity)? It seems like yoke vs stick is just a personal preference? Thanks again for all the feedback! I realize I’ve probably sti...

Re: New member in central Ohio
Well, I finally sold my C150 so the search is on! My training so far has been in an 7AC but I've noticed several nice looking Chiefs on Barnstormers. Could anyone comment on the handling characteristics of the Chief vs the Champ? I'm curious about the Chief's fuselage tank and its impact on handling...

New member in central Ohio
Hello! I am new to the forum and thought I would “check in.” I currently have a Cessna 150 but I am seriously considering moving to a 7AC (or similar Aeronca LSA). After a couple of grass strip fly-ins this past year, I find the “simpler” flying very appealing. Is there a way to search for members t...
