My compass is mounted as you describe. I have a correction card, but it is too small to read. I have not noticed a problem withe interference. I can watch the gas gauge bounce around by slightly craning my neck. (I'm pretty tall, but I doubt you would have any trouble.)

Dale and John, Third try answering your posts. Ipad keeps locking up, so don't know what you will get. John, thanks for the suggestion. My son has one of the knock offs. Dale, I plan to order the 3A "Y" type from spruce with the sewn in loops. That way I won't have to replace my seat belts...

Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to carve a slot in the former over the rear spar carrythrough for the harness strap without nicking the square tube? Headliner is in place and zipper is about six inches behind spar.

Griphos, Definitely get the intercom out of the circuit before you try anything else. Generally ignition noise is heard while receiving. Also check very carefully before you put a P-lead filter on a Slick mag. I believe there is a feed through capacitor in the mag and adding another is not good. Pau...
