Re: a different Heater configuration ?

I'm not familiar with the heater modification but I'll bet the Alaskan he was talking about is F. Atlee Dodge. jrh

Re: measurement needed

You must have an aluminum airbox. I think it needs a wedged spacer to adapt it to the 7AC nosebowl opening. Bill Pancake or John Propst can help you fit the parts. My drawing of the wedge is in a dead hard drive. jrh

Sounds like you have a Continental airbox as used on a Piper J3C instead of an Aeronca airbox. jrh

Re: Door Stops

Here's the drawing number. 1-2869 I've made them from stainless steel automotive hose clamps. The hose clamp band is a little bigger in width and thickness than the material specified in the drawing but it works well and holds it shape. Get a large enough clamp so you have a long enough section with...

I am a little confused about how the air outlet at the firewall tunnel is enlarged, anyone have a photo?[/quote]

If your aircraft was manufactured as a 7BCM, this was already done. jrh

Re: Toast to CPTKELLY

At 10:00 PM I was sitting beside the runway with my wife. We were watching the fireworks across the river to the west that signaled the end to the county fair. I'm sure I saw an Aeronca headed west through the smoke. Fair skies and tailwinds, Captain.

Re: My Super Champ is going up for sale.

Below is the definition for light sport aircraft taken fron the FARs 1.1 General Definitions. Note the phrase "since it's original certification, has continued to meet the following". It can only be a light sport aircraft if "it has continued to meet 1320 pounds for aircraft not inten...

Re: New Medical Option

Doesn't seem that there are many of us Non-Medical Old Guys plunking down $140,000 or more on a New LSA As I remember, not many guys around here plunked down the cash for a new plane in the 1960s and 1970s either. Most of the C150s and Cherokees were bought by flight schools who kept them busy unti...

Re: Starving C-65 engine

You have an A65 engine I think. No provision for electric starter or generator. Although there is reference to a C65 it is so rare that most guys have never seen one. Just to keep the Gods happy. Some places for fuel to disappear. Through an unlocked  or worn primer into the induction a...

I apologize. I didn't mean to ruffle feathers. I guess I misunderstood the thread and saw what I thought was a can of worms getting out of control. I am sorry I interfered. jrh

Call them and ask if they can do what you need done. I sent them a combo oil pressure/ oil temperature gauge, one of Wxx Axxxx Chin...

Re: Mag leads

JRH, I think I have the same set up, but with Bednix Mags. My 7CCM is the first aircraft that I have owned without a starter and twice I have had the engine try to fire with the mags off, which I assume is a faulty ground, though I can not see to find the ground faulty when shooting continuity when...

Re: Mag leads

so this is normal, using the second wire for the ground. i just found it odd danny Many mechanics also as a good practice add a jumper wire from the ground post on the left mag to the ground post on the right mag to insure the magneto cases are electrically connected. I must be missing something. P...
