Just be careful with the folded aluminum piece in the center over the column. It's possible for a rudder pedal to become stuck down behind it if the cover is bent or not positioned properly.

There is a type of plywood called "Baltic Birch", a very good quality hardwood ply, similar to aircraft plywood. I bought some from a local place that sells specialty woods. Available in various thickness from 1/16" or less and up.

That's what I thought, the J2 has the concave shape behind the cylinders, or maybe an E2 Taylor Cub. Certainly for a tandem airplane so it's not for a Chief. Bargain for someone who knows.

My friends the Tiger Boys at Guelph Airpark always use a two-part epoxy, specifically because the fabric glue and thinners won't react with it. They always have several restoration jobs going on at their shop.
