Holiday Sale on Aviation Specific GoPro Mounts

Hello All, Do you have a GoPro camera and are looking to find a great way to get your video out of the cockpit and onto the wingstrut or wing cabane? The FAA recently changed its stance on the use of external GoPro cameras so the worry of what the FAA thinks is now a thing of the past. I have been t...

Re: Chief Cabin size?

Hello All,

Thank you for the honest replies. Looks like it will have to be a champ or I head down a different route of a Piper. Another option is I build something with the help of my EAA club.

Thanks again,

Marc

Chief Cabin size?

Hello All, I was on here a while back researching info on the Champ but I now have a question about the Chief. I was considering a champ because I wanted a stick over a yoke, but I think that for flying with the soon to be wife that she would prefer side by side seating. And also after some Cessna t...

Re: Chief 11AC Controls Stick conversion

Go to Barnstormers.com and in the search field type "Stick Chief" There is one for sale for 25K in El Cajon California. Maybe you could ask the owner some questions. Interestingly that plane is what brought me to this site as I had questions about my fitting in it. I was told by a previous...

Re: Last try before I learn in a 172... Van Nuys CA Area?

Hello Paul, When I started this process I first asked CP aviation about training in their Citabria and they said due to insurance reasons it was a no go. I had a friend who had 2 hangars at SZP and he was a member of my sailplane club and he was going to teach me for the price of gas in his Champ bu...

Last try before I learn in a 172... Van Nuys CA Area?

Hello All, I have been on this forum for about a month asking various questions and I am looking to start flying lessons. I still would love to learn in a Tailwheel if possible since my goal is to own an older TW plane one day. I live in Santa Clarita Ca and the airports closest to me are Van Nuys, ...

Re: Future Dilemma?

Hello Paul, I just looked at your site and wish we had something similar down here in the Los Angeles area. Sport Pilot or Private Pilot training in a taildragger is pretty much non existant out here. And your rates are amazing. I use to have family in Livermore (ex wife family) and know the area an...

Re: Stick Chief on Barnstormers?

Hello John, It seems your the same size as me and you fit in a (non Stick) chief. I have never sat in one before. Is there room for a passenger as well? If so what weight is left after fuel or with average fuel. I am begining to realize that finding something nostalgic for my dad and I to fly togeth...

Re: Future Dilemma?

Hey Guys, I have to say some of these replies have been pretty amusing. Anyhow, I still would like to give a Champ a try as it would work for myself and girlfriend but as I said I know my dad will want to fly with me as well. My goals in flying is for fun and not so much in going long distances. May...

Re: Future Dilemma?

Hey Guys, Thanks for the great info. Both my dad and I could stand to lose some weight but realisticaly he wont drop below 240lbs which wont help much. If I were to plan for myself and Girlfriend then the Champ would work fine. I spoke with a friend who flys and he suggested I just learn in a 172 as...

Stick Chief on Barnstormers?

Hello All, There is a 1939 65CA Stick Chief on Barnstormers for sale and it has been on and off barnstormers many times over the last year. It is low time and looks really nice, but curious as to why it is not selling. Is it overpriced? something wrong with it? Just curious since its been on Barnsto...

Re: Future Dilemma?

Hello, I am new to this forum and this is my first post. Anyhow I read this thread and I can say I am running into some of the same problems. I want to learn in a TD and I am finding it tough to find a place that will train in a TD. My goals in aviation dont really include a cessna and I know that m...
