Sure thing Bob,
I plan to go flying tomorrow. I'll measure that stuff up for you. My skis are Federal 1850s.
I feel like I lucked out. The rigging was perfect as received.

Re: Ski Champ!!!!!
No room in my hangar, but we could find room inside somewhere at the airport (HNR)
Or you can just come fly my Champ. Plenty of room at the house. You have to like kids though. I have four of them and number 5 is cooking...

After a year and a half of looking at them hanging up,,, I made it out on the skis yesterday!! I had never been around skis, so I spent a little time taxiing and ground handling first. That is so much fun!! I flew it to my house (picture) and all around the countryside. Had to finally stop at nightf...

Re: winter flying?
The snow dance isn't working here in southwest Iowa either... I have a barn full of dusty unused snowmobiles, and some dusty skis for my Champ.... I'm ready. I have been flying the Champ as much as possible though. She is winterized, and the air leaks slowed to a minimum.... maybe... I also have a s...

Re: Inherited a set of Federal A 1850's
Yeah Bob,
We need to get together some time. My partner has the old girl up in the Nebraska sandhills right now. But I should have it throughout the fall months.
We are both pretty jazzed about flying with skis.
later,
Josh

Re: Champ Training in Colorado?
It's a little ways from you, but......
My Uncle, Dick Trail, instructs in his 7AC Champ at the McCook, NE airport (MCK). A day with him and you'll be set.
If you need more info, let me know...

I was buying some guns and things from a young gunsmith a few years back. He knew I was into the 7.62x54r... So he hands m...
