Re: Carb needle 390077
Yes, thank you, I found that, plus others similar and it does seem that the lapping is unavoidable. We've bitten the bullet and spent the money (well, my lovely partner has) and await the fun to come! I can understand that issues over fuel have caused some back-covering but it's a shame the neoprene...

Re: Carb needle 390077
Yes, that's what I've read in several places (so it must be true!). I think I found an old Spruce webpage that suggested they could still supply neoprene needles, if they really, really had to and with boxfuls of warnings, but when I looked again, the page had no such small print anymore. I think we...

Carb needle 390077
I have searched the forum but things change over time so I'm going to start afresh. I'm trying to find a neoprene needle for the carb. I've read the various articles on the subject and as I have the round seat and use only Avgas, I think this would be the better option than the Delrin. It would be a...

Re: Model A Gauge Replacement
Just reporting in as 'the friend'. The old gauge was a bear to remove, having to be ground off extremely carefully, but as only the interior thread had to be preserved, it worked. The replacement gauges have markings that are differently placed on the arc, though of course it's just a case of gettin...

Re: Graphics, Stickers, Decals, Logos, Lettering...
Well, it's taken a while but the Champ now looks good. Yesterday we put the decals on and I think they look fabulous. Truly smart. 8) As for the colo(u)r - you couldn't have guessed better! Can I post a picture? Err, actually not right now as I've lost my hard drive and until I get some sort of syst...

Re: A slooow restoration
Well, I did consider posting them one at a time, but thought that'd use up too much cyberspace. That's one of the pair of wings I bought as the I needed one for sure and two to be extra sure... They were in good shape but were stripped anyway, to be extra extra sure. And sure enough, there wasn't mu...

Re: A slooow restoration
I claim no personal credit for the real work: chief third hand, me, but the design is mine...a much simplified version of the best bits of the previous sunburst pattern, which didn't seem quite suited to an elderly lady who won't be doing aerobatics....'CC and CC that is... If you use the crevice to...

A slooow restoration
I could do some housework, or I could post a few pictures of the progress to date. http://no7bcm.smugmug.com/Other/My-Pictures/10888107_BfqFP I can't seem to get them embedded...will keep trying... Progress is currently rather stalled by the dreary wait for the humidity to drop sufficiently to finis...

Re: English Aircraft Dealer
I think it's fair to say genuine Aeronca owners over here are as appalled as everyone else. It's be relatively rare (albeit not impossible) for us to have what you guys need, given the numbers each side of the pond. In fact, the Aeronca Club would be a good place to check if you are worried about an...

Thanks for that - I ordered from you last week or so, but forgot to say so here...
They seem to be stuck in British Customs. Hopefully they'll roll their way out soon
