gaskets
Hi, I don't mean to make this anymore complicated, but I pulled a couple of cylinders. What do you mean by the exhaust flange? Does the raised side of the gasket go towards the cylinder head or the exhaust pipe? I couldn't follow directions in school either...haha

Hi, Well, if the initial money investment for a flying airplane is too much like it was with me, (14-18K) then buy a rebuilder with a few things in mind. I paid 6000 for my 11CC and was missing alot of parts which took me months to find at times-unless you get lucky and find a complete plane that ne...

stumble
Just a report of sorts. This November, I took my plane completely apart to paint and refinish. I removed the engine and stored it nose down. I did no maintainance on the engine, as it ran perfect. Upon installation and start up, I now have a significant stumble from 1200-1600 r.p.m. I put mmo in the...

Hi, I'm thinking about changing out my plugs. Would 170.00 be in the ballpark? Call me at 218-213-6030 John Question for any/everyone... I always clean and pressure test the plugs every annual. I have seen what worn out plugs look like..so the question is what kind of hours do you need to have on th...

grease
I wasn't meaning to offend any thoughts on grease. Matter of fact as a physics type guy, I love to see all the different properties of grease, so no, it is not boring at all!!! where I am from, the airport is on a 7 mile long spit of sand jutting out into lake superior. (park point) sand gets into a...

Not ment to be a smart a-s comment, BUT why all the concern over wheel bearing grease. The number one issue is to keep your bearings clean and lubricated. How many miles does a plane travel in a year of takeoffs and landings? My boat trailer has very similar bearings and sometimes goes years without...

weight
hi guys! One answer is to put your plane on floats! The FAA gives you 10% of the legal gross to be over. So, 1320 times 10% equals 132 lbs. So I believe a float plane can be up to 1450. That puts my 11CC chief in. For those of you that don't know, A 11BC with 85 h.p. is 'In". The 11CC with the ...

I am going to be replacing the elevator and rudder hinge pins. Where do i get them and what size are they? Are they "standard" size? The chief is coming together after it's paint (dope) job. Took care of all the little issues, and should be back in the air this month. Will try and post som...

Hi. My vote is for getting the finished spars at wag-aero. They took over from safe air repair in Albert Lee, MN. Mine were perfect. You will still have LOTS of work to do besides manufacturing your own spars. my two cents. If you have nothing but time, go fot it. The only downside to buying the spa...
