I am also a new champ owner (n83987), and find the same thing with my primer. It does not feel like it is pulling any gas in. I have not disassembled the primer yet, but have read about the old style packing inside. I am hoping for some veteran champ owners to chime in. Tom O Seattle '46 7AC, N83987

I have since been using 24psi, and landings are no different. Haven't had another flat either.

I have taken the champ up to 5000' thus far. I haven't tried to cross the cascade mountains yet, I can't imagine getting over the rockies, but it looks like crossing over I-90 would be the best bet, around Missoula MT.
Have you been over the Rockies in a champ ?.
