Re: Insurance Quote 2012
I just renewed my insurance and got the lowest rate ever. About half of last years. I have a 7EC valued at 25,000. For full coverage of hull with no deductible and $1,000,000 liability, passenger $100,000 liability. The total premium is $458.00. If you are interested contact Christina at Zanette Avi...

Re: Adjustable pilot seat
Keith, I am 6'7" and have a 1963 7EC with an adjustable seat. Although the seat moves a little. My problem always are my knees getting in the way such as the bottom of the instrument panel. However, by removing my shoes and wearing mocasins, it drops my knees below the panel and out of the way ...

Re: Tailwheel won't unlock...
Mike, I had tailwheel problems with a Maule tailwheel. The shimy was tremendous on some landings. Nothing on others, with no common denominator that I could discern. Went on the internet and found there are lots of problems, with lots of theories etc. Finally, heard about a tailwheel from Aviation P...

tail wheel angle
Tom,
Can not add anything to what Nathan said except to recommend a tail wheel that I've had no shimmy with since putting on my champ. Contact Aviation Products at (806) 646-6042.

Hello Everyone, About a month ago I installed Micro Aero vortex generators on my 7EC. I offer the following observations: The airplane is definitely more stable at low airspeeds; at slow airspeeds i.e. 50mph you have good control authority such as you have at 70mph; you land slower; the takeoff roll...

Prop spinner backing plate
My prop spinner backing plate is cracked on my 7EC (90 hp). Called all the suppliers i.e. Wag, Spruce, Univair, and Champion etc. No one has one. Also, Bill Pancake suggested either rivet another plate on the existing plate or go to a Cessna 150 spinner. Does anyone have the plate or suggestions? Th...

heel brake technique
Tim, I agree with Jody; practice, practice, practice. I am 6'7" with 15 shoes. I also wear shoes with no heels, not only for more room to rotate my heels, but also it drops my knees out of the horizontal member just below the instrument panel. It's all tricky stuff, but that's the need for prac...

shut off valve
Hey Minnesota,
That was a great suggestion for the stiff shut off valve. We did just as you advised. The valve works perfectly!
Thanx,
Ted

Fuel shut off valve
I have a 7EC with two 13 gallon wing tanks and a fuel shut off valve that takes great force to move it. Any way to free it up? Need new one? If so, where to buy?
P.S. Your advice on the hooker shoulder harness was perfect. They installed easily and feel great! Thanx

Shoulder harnesses
Hello, Just rejoined the ranks of Aeronca Pilots after 40 years. Have questions, however let me start with this: I have a 7EC converted from a FC, am interested in installing shoulder harnesses. Who has them? Which way is a good way to go? What about price? Time to install? Appreciate any feed back ...
