Re: L16A Questions

Many thanks to you both! Never thought of ACA for a fuselage jig! The plane goes up for auction on Friday, but it's a long ways away from home. It would have to be bought cheaply on the basis of the two pix I got from the owner. Sure would like to find an L-16 project though (that's not a want ad, r...

Thanks in advance for any feedback. I'm looking at some L16A pieces to buy.... It will need a major rebuild on the fuselage...did I read on here some time ago that someone has a Champ fuselage jig/capability? No wings...are any available? I'm capable of putting them together...did another Champ some...

It's definitely a seller's market for LSA's, Joe. I posted a restored Vagabond to the Shortwing site late Saturday afternoon, and it was taken by dark Sunday night.

(NOBODY gets my Champ (ECA) though!)

What Jody said....and (pained voice of humbling experience speaks :-) ) make sure to stay far enough away from the ribs that the rib flange doesn't interfere with gluing it on the inside.

Did the first airplane I rebuilt, a 7AC, with Imron with flex agent back in the mid-70's. A year or so ago I got came across the guys that have it now. It still looks good and no cracks visible in the pix they sent me. Of course, it's lead a sheltered life. Hangared almost all the time. Your mileage...

Is anyone actively tracking the STC-holder down at this point? Let me know please. This looks like a FUN airplane.

Wondering about the prop spacer...suppose they modify the mount cause the 0-200 weighs more?

Cool, Mike! First things that come to mind are 'certification' and 'resale value'. Is the engine certified?..and even so, don't the engine/airframe have to be certified as a 'package'? If you're just gonna fly this til your -7 is done, sure seems like a lot of work to go thru. Are you thinking of tr...

Hi Mike, I'm probably not timely on this, but yup, you just download it, then double-click on the 'exe' file to install from wherever you download it to. Once you're comfortable with having all this set up and working, we'll talk ya thru setting up a software firewall (they keep people from sneaking...

Hi Mike, I concur with Joe...AVG Free version is excellent. I also run both AdAware and Spybot on my Windows-based computers. Again, both free, and both excellent at finding 'sneaky stuff' on your computer. Another thought is to regularly do a Windows Update to get the latests security patches. They...

Mozilla is painless Mike. Doesn't even touch your IE at all. You can download at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ Once you get the download on your computer, just run it by double-clicking, and it will install itself, and you can take a look at it. Recommend it whenever you have time.

Anybody running the Linux operating system instead of Windows? I've gone pretty much pure Ubuntu Linux. It rocks, It's free to download (and free forever), updated regularly, and eliminates the WHOLE bunch of Microsoft issues. Sweet thing is that Office-compatible software is freely available, and e...
