Tooling up for wing spars

Post by AV8R2 »

OK, folks. If you need wing spars or sections of wing spars I need to know now.

I have some preliminary cost figures (and they are high) on what this is going to cost me to tool up and make these parts. But like all things in the parts world the cost per item depends on how many are made.

If you need front or rear spars or sections of spar webs I must have a positive count on who needs what and I will figure cost per piece based on this count.

However, no spars will be made without a 50% non-refundable deposit. You will know how much they are going to cost before you order; if it costs me more than what I quote-my problem, not yours. I will stick to my quoted price.

So, call me, email me immediately so I can complete this and get more parts available for the Sedan. If you don't help me to help you, the Sedan will die eventually.

Spar Count

Post by AV8R2 »

Thanks to those that have contacted me about the spars. So far I have 2 main spar webs and 3 complete rear spars (inboard and outboard halves) on the list.

I have ordered the pattern stock to make the drill jigs for the webs. Will be starting on the lightening hole dies next.

Keep the calls and emails coming in! The more I can count on the better the price gets for all of us!

Thanks again!

Hey guys, this is a wonderful thing Burl is doing. Spread the word around.

Joe, can you post it on the fAA (Fearless Aeronca Aviator) site if you get time.

Burl, are you going to OSH? If you could send me an e-mail with all you provide for the Sedan, I will pass it on. I am leaving the 22nd and will be in the type club tent all week. We Always get lot's of Sedan questions and refer them to you. Would love to be able to tell them what you have, besides the spars.

If you could send me a list, including STC's and your contact info, I will pass it on to all who ask. Lot's of Sedan folks stop and say high to Jim. Stop by and say high, or if you are going to be set up there, let me know where and I will stop and say hello. Thanks for all your hard work on the Sedans.

Spar Web Parts Cost

Post by AV8R2 »

The following is the current price list for the Main spar web halves and doubler and the rear spar inboard and outboard halves:

7-817-3 Doubler $50.00

7-817-4 L/R Front Spar Inboard web $300.00

7-817-8 L/R Front Spar Outboard web $575.00

5-470-1 L/R Rear Spar, inboard section $275.00

5-470-2 L/R Rear Spar, outboard section $375.00

These parts total $1575.00 for all pieces, front and rear, one wing.

50% none refundable deposit required on these parts because they are considered special order items.

We expect to be able to deliver in the next 45-60 days. Still making some of the tooling and forming dies.

Estimated $40.00 crating, shipping is extra. The crating cost can be minimized by combining orders or/adding other long parts to the order.
