65ca brakes

I am at the point of putting the brakes on my 65ca but can not fiquire out how to assybel the items. How does the plate with the cam, mount to the axle? does anyone have any photos?

The plate with the spreader are has the arm and the spring mounted to it. There are not any other holes in it. It fits over the round flange on the axle and allows the four holes in the flange to clear. It does not show any means to connect to the axle to fix it in place, unless it is just clamped on the axle by a bracket that goes into the flange with the four holes. What is messing me up is when I got this I have 90% of the parts for disc brakes mix up with the parts I have.

Still need a name on the parts to know what we are working with. Believe that there may have been more than one type of wheels/brakes for that airplane. Shinn comes to mind.

I could not find any markings, but a friend took them and call and reported he had figured it out. I sure hope so.

I just found out from a nice lady at Oshkosh that Shinn brakes parts are available from Skybound in Doraville, GA at 770-446-6797

Good people and have a good reputation in the Aeronca world. Have never used them but everyone I have heard going to them were very happy with the service.

Classic Aero at 480-650-0883 can provice many Shinn Firestone brake parts for the old mechanical systems, as well as parts for the mechnical Cleveland and Mechanical Goodyear disk brakes.
