Does anyone have a pattern for the wood frame work for the skylight? Whoever converted this L-16A to a 7BCM butchered the wood and covered it up.

Larry,
You might try to adapt the Citabria wood work if yours is wood. The L16 uses stamped aluminum for its formers.

Thanks for the inout Paul. This plane has all wood there now but it is in bad shape. I never thought about the Citabria. Is that the same greenhouse?

Larry,
It,s got to be close. I used a Citabria skylight in my L16, just trimmed to fit. The convex surface makes for better optics than a flat sheet.

Have you checked a Wag catalog lately, they have several different skylight formers listed. Just a thought.

I bought one of wag Aero's frame and promptly sent it back. The wood was very thin and rough. One end was split out where they nailed it together!
NOT GOOD!

Larry,
Did you find a solution? I might have some old Citabria patterns around if you need them. After I use this type of item I tend to store them at the bottom of the barrel.

I am going to use what I have and "customize" it a touch and make it fit better. I have the old ones that are severely dry rotted but I wanted to make sure they were what is supposed to be there. Mine are 3/4" thick as opposed to the 3/8" to 1/2 thick that wag sent. Theirs was ugly! A local friend is working with me. When he saw it his comment was " If I turned that into my shop teacher, I would have failed!" Thanks for your help. I will keep you posted.
