Robert,
Will be there Saturday at least and possibly Sunday as well. Am usually the "Aeronca judge" so am working the event. We usually as well have a "Aeronca friends and family cookout" on Saturday at lunch, and have free hot dogs and hamburgs for everyone.
Look for our gathering between the fuel pump area and the Tee hangars around 11:00 to 13:00 on Saturday.

I will look out for the group. Will you have your Chief there? You are going to have to fly it up to Payson some day and I will buy you breakfast or lunch. I can show you my project. I have the overhauled engine flying now in my Eaglet.

Hate to say it but when judging, I usually let someone else judge planes I know. Its hell being honest but better in the long run!Nathan K. PS when I was a judge Tom Holmes 65TC won not the Best Aeronca, but Grand Champion of the fly-in here in Casa Grande. I wanted to give his plane the Best Aeronca, but was over-ruled by other judges who felt that this was best in the entire show. They were correct and glad that they felt that way. Tom's work is excellent.
What I cannot wait to see is Tom's new airplane and hope it makes it to Middletown. Placed against Jody's new Chief, I believe that it would be a very interesting competition!
