Hi Jeff, It really is a neat ol' place! There's nothing like looking out over the ramp and seeing; Cubs, Champs, Stearmans (square and round tail), Stinson Jr's, Bucker Jungmanns and Bestmanns, RV's, T-6's, and even a Grumman Widgeon. And to top it all off, you can walk right up to the airplanes and have a conversation with most pilots. It's a really cool place! Hope you come back soon and give me a hollar next time you're in!

How did you get the mount on the strut? I'd be interested in seeing a photo of the set up. Did the plane fly any differently with drag/weight of the camera?

I used a RAM mount ( RAM-B-108B). It looks like an inverted "V" with a ball on the point. That was secured to the strut with a hose clamp, over top a shop rag.

There were no ill effects, infact you couldn't tell it was there at all. I did make it a point to mount it outside the propwash. The camera had about a 4"x6" cross section, but it didn't offer to buffet in the slipstream. All in all, I was happy with it.

Nate, It looks like your camera fell off in the pic above. Just thought I would let you know. Mark

This was shot with a Fuji S5200 on a RAM mount.

Good video. Do they still have the sign at Sunken Lunken towards the end of the runway "The end is Near"?
