Kevin,
The Martin clip uses a drill template to correctly locate the wire holes. Spruce should have it. The wire is not the easiest thing to use so you may need to practice. If you have a choice use the stainless wire. Some of the old surplus wire was Cadmium plated and will rust over time.

Why is the Martin Clip hard to use? I thought it would be pretty easy. I haven't ever seen it however. Just seemed simple.

Robert,
The hole spacing is a little critical for the clip. If its long the clip won't fit and if short the the wire will bulge between the holes. Inserting the formed end is also tough unless the holes are kept clear. After you have inserted the wire in a couple of ribs you will get a rhythm going. The installation is faster than the screws but slower than rib stitching.
