Auto fuel tax refund

Post by MikeB »

Are there any states that allow a refund for mogas used exclusively for aircraft? Several years ago, I saved all my mogas fuel reciepts that I used only in my aircraft, but it seems that, Wisconsin at least, would not allow a refund of the road tax. I have to say, I've found nothing in writing, nor have I followed up what I was told regarding the tax. Hardly seems fair, since (hopefully) we never use the road for landing or taking off.

Auto fuel in Wisconsin averages about $2.30 per gallon and 100 LL is around $3.00. I may have find a less expensive hobby (like chasing wild women!!!) .
