Oleo strut height
Oleo strut height
I bought a champ and the landing gear sits bottomed out when setting still.
Or all the time unless it flying. Are the springs compressed,or weak ?
The pictures I have looked at show 2 or 3 inches sticking out the bottom.
I can post a picture if needed. It looks like I may have a gear rebuild in the near future.
Thanks Mike

Mike,
The standard gear should have the clearance you discribe. The No-Bounce gear will be closer to the bottom. If you can un-screw the bottom of the oleo you have the No-bounce.
If you have the standard oleo's the taxi springs have probably compressed. Generally this is from the oleo being under serviced.

You do not have to be a member of anything to post photos. You can host them at several places online then copy the location to this site and they will show up.hammmike wrote:I am not a member of anywhere else to post pics. Could I send it to someone that can. Mike
There are a couple of threads on posting photos in the General discussion and guidelines section that give links and help for this.

This is like doing a full stall x-wind landing, alittle practice and there is nothing to it.

Mike,
Go to the above location and right click your mouse on the photo. When it says "copy image location" then left click there.
Then return here and start a post. Type whatever you wish then when ready for the photo look at the menu above this window to find the "img" button. Its just below the "Subject" line on the right side.
Click on it once, then put your cursor next to the
at the back part of the location. Then click on the submit button.
In the end it looks like this:

Joe
PS you have the "No Bounce" landing gear!
