Hopefully Midwest Aviation will have stock of a Champ and prolly fly there in a hour. I will go plant the bug now...
Jerry,

Thanks very much and pls do whatever you can to get at least 1 airplane to the fly-in. We have several major suppliers who are coming and it would be a shame to miss a sales opportunity like this.

Jerry, we checked with a dealer in the Cleveland Area. They do not have one. Lot's of people go to an Aeronca fly-in looking to buy. Great opportunity to show off the 7LS.
A lot of people were really dis appointed it was not there last year.
Please let Joe, Myself, or post it on the board. If you have a contact number and want me to call a dealer, let me know.

Jerry, have Jim Sweeny fly one over. He can crash with me, and hell I'll even buy him dinner. Seriously, I hope to see the New Champ up next to all the originals.

Yeah, we get caught in the 'flow' of buy and sell; so I can't be sure who will have one. If they sell out, then its good for us to make the Oshkosh demo early. If they don't sell out, then its bad to make an extra.

At this moment, Princeton has a Champ, but June is still 3 months away...

Basically, just keep nagging me. I will push on Pa to arrange one.
I don't mind being nagged; I forget too much stuff!

Jerry,

If you do not have a Champ available in June, is there anything else that you can fly over just to represent the company? It just feels funny having a fly-in at the Aeronca factory and the company who took over making Aeronca's not show up.

Hope that something can be worked out. Might even sell a plane while its here, but its sure not going to sell if there is no plane to show!

Thx,

Joe

PS I can nag fairly well. Every week if needed and we can probably get several others to do the same! :)

Jerry, really hoping for a new champ, but if you cant arrainge a plane, send a truck with any inter changable parts, wings, etc for display. May get some orders. Don't know if you guys inherited any of the old style (flush mount) champ handles for the 7EC, but the inner handle was the same as the handles needed for the chief. What ever you can do would be greatly appreciated. The convention is starting to grow again. Just like to throw Aeronca business to aeronca people.

Jerry,

We are less than two months away. Whats the status on bringing at least one airplane from ACA to Middletown?

Thx,

Joe

Midwest Aviation is working on it; which doesn't garuntee anything.
I know Princeton, NJ still has one in stock too.
There is one on the floor now with a classic 'fat robin' paint scheme going to some dealer.

Its always hard to say, you sit on a plane a while and are sure its good for show. Someone walks in and buys it and says, no you can't take my airplane to the show.

Do I have to just write a check for one right now to make sure that we have one to display? :)

Just think, you might be able to sell 10-20 of them right away if there was one on display!

ACA's LSA Champ

Post by Carl Prather »

Jerry,

I'm coming out from California to Middletown in June and if ACA can make the effort, I would also be very interested in seeing the new LSA Champ.
