That'll be perfect for a cruise speed. I can lope along at 80-85, or push it up to 90-95.

I'll give you a hollar when we break ground.

Nate, If you need to dump any cargo with me, I should have room in my wife's Expedition. Derek is wavering on going. I think he said something about being worn out from work! Seems kinda strange to me....Anyway, I hope he decides to go. Lloyd's grandson Joey is going to ride with me, his mom ain't real comfortable with him flying. He took his first flight with Lloyd a few days ago. I look forward to meeting all the guys we have been talking with the last few years! Now remember folks, I am the real short, skinny old guy. And I am a little shy in person, so bear with me. David J.

And I'm good lookin too! :P

David, I dropped some things at Derek's place last night for him to transfer up to you. I got the same story, but I think he's still coming; airline pilots! I may add just a few things to your rig, as I'm already externally loading a few key items.

UPDATE: We'll be airborn from Peachstate around 6:30 and head towards Villa Rica to wake up Don, then over to Jasper to meet up with Lloyd. From there, we're heading West, then North to go around the foothills and stopping at Rockwood, TN were we should meet up with Bud Myers and a couple others. From there we'll swing through Danville, KY so I can drop off the wife and top-off. Then it's non-stop to Middletown. 24 hours to go!

The wife and I are definitely driving. . Big nasty thunderstorm this afternoon that almost caught me on the cycle coming back from the airport and more expected tomorrow which would be in our route down to Middletown. We're leaving around 6:30 am which should put us there late in the afternoon as best I can figure. Staying at the Best Western so may be able to tip a frosty one with other 'Aeronaeers' tomorrow evening.

BAD WEATHER

Post by SFC Hiatt »

Just (11 June 1730 hours) had a Thunderstorm blow through here at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Straight line wind blew down several LARGE trees as well as everything that wasnt' tied down.

I would guess gusts easily over 60 or 70 mph.

I have all you guys in my thoughts.

If only we could harness that into a tailwind! Talk about an afterburner! Alas, it would always be in my face though...

Guys,

This is going to be a good one!

We already have 12-14 airplanes here on Wednesday night! We have never had this many airplanes there this early.

Get up here and enjoy the fun with everyone!

It's 3am and we finally got the Cub finished up... I hope! I suspect it knows we're heading into unfriendly water.

Mark Lammon, arrived around 8:30pm to my surprise and boy does he have a cool toy to play with. You guys will love it. I can't thank him enough though for the help with that bastard Cub. He jumped right in helping and stuck it out until 2am when we finally had the cowling on.

So, in 3 hours we'll be heading north to meet up with Lloyd, Don and a couple guys from Alabama. YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA!

I told Nathan not to torture himself and look what he does? He took getting an "early start" very serious! Just kidding Nate, glad to see you could get everything worked out. Hopefully, it's all cool now? 8)
