1946 11AC Chief for sale

Post by SFC Hiatt »

Hey guys my quest to own/fly a sport bi-plane is still burning deep down in my little soul. Therefore, my Chief is for sale because I still can't convince my wife I need two airplanes. Pictures all over this site however, if someone is looking for a specific photo just let me know.

Chris,

Sorry to see this happen. Remember when you sold the Champ and hope that you come back in an Aeronca someday!

Ouch...........I feel like I just got caught cheating.........I did regret selling the Champ and I'll have days when I regret selling the Chief however, right not I need a little more upside down and round and round in my life.....

Still five Aeronca's on the field, two flying and one weeks from the test flight so I'll still be able to get my Aeronca fill.

Well after 1407 views and 82 watchers on eBay the Chief did not sell at the incredible fair (opinion) price of $22,000. Therefore, I guess it's time to continue the restoration and put off the sport biplane dreams for another year.

In a way I'm actually glad that she is still in the hangar. Couple offers at $20,000 but, I'm just too attached to let her go for anything less than 22.

So, I guess I'll be around a bit longer to pester the forum with my sarcasms. ;)

Sorry that it did not sell (I am a terrible liar, no I am not sorry! :) ) so now its time to really enjoy the Chief when you can.

Are you deploying anytime soon?

Joe

PS where are you based? Might be coming through that area in the next 10 days or so...

Joe

I'm currently based in Ponca City, Oklahoma (KPNC). I'm on Active Duty assigned as the training nco for the army reserve unit here in town.

I would welcome any NAA visitors. We can always find a place for planes, good food and if necessary a place to bed down. Oh yea..(joe)....if you visit in one of those really fast expensive planes I even have a loaner Chief available free of charge.
