Weather permitting, I'll be at Moontown for the Sat. breakfast. I'm up at Shelbyville, Tn. Our breakfast is on the 4th Sat each month (although I'll be gone for the next one). I have a blue and white Chief. rogerdrjeff wrote:Chris,
I don't know how long you are going to be in Huntsville, AL but just east of there is a great little strip known as, "Moontown"
This Sat is their weekend for the breakfast if I'm not mistaken. Great place to be on a pretty Saturday!!! Check it out if you can.

Boy Chris,
You were really right when you said to put the Chief on Barnstormers and hold on! Just put the plane on their website last night shortly after dinnertime.
Over 200 new views of the "The Chief is officially for sale" thread and three emails from people either want to see the plane or asking for more information overnight!

Chris,
If it does not, go by the NAA booth and we will get you one!
Am not going to be there but Jody and Jim and the others will.
May have the Chief sold. A guy just called me and offered a deposit sight unseen for me to hold it, said it was just what he was looking for. I told him that one other gent was coming to look at it and I would feel more comfortable if he saw it in person.
Sure happy I put the plane on Barnstormers!

Went out to the airport and finished putting the covers and cowling back on the airplane. Once that was done it was too close to 100 degrees here to go and finally have some fun so went home and the shower instead.
Got up early and made it to the airport by 0600. Pulled the Chief out of the hangar and after putting some fuel in got the bird started and taxied out.
Spent almost 2 wonderful hours back in the saddle again, and flew out West to a friends ranch. Its South of Wickenburg and out of the middle of no-where, and out in the gold mining part of the state.

I had forgotten how much fun it was to fly at 1000 feet (or possibly lower at times
) and just look around. Airplane flew like a charm and used just shy of 9 gallons of gas for 2 hours of flying. Hard to beat!

Well everyone, I just accepted a $1000 deposit on the Chief two nights ago. Its supposed to be wire transferred into my bank account by today and the new owner is planning on flying into Phoenix on the 7th of August to pick the plane up and fly it home.
Then I hop on the airline and head to Ohio near the Aeronca factory and bring the new Sedan home! Wish both of us luck on our flights home! Will be taking loads of photos of both and posting them here as possible.
Thanks for everyone's help and ideas.
