Up Elevator Cable Length

Post by GWestphal »

Would anyone have the length dimension on the 3-471 up elevator cable. I want to compare my old one with the dimension on the drawing before I make a new one. The rest of the cable drawings were available for dimensional checking. Gordy

I just measured a new one I have in my garage. I bought it a couple of years ago from Wag Aero. From the inside edge of the thimble to the other thimble is 122 3/8", and the other short section after the turnbuckle is 19 1/2".
Both of those measurments are thimble to thimble.

Thank you James for the dimensions. I left my notes at the airport but will compare with yours tomorrow. It seems all of my cables are 1/16 to 3/16 longer than the dimensions on the prints I was able to print. Thanks for your help.

Gordy,
Check out page 40 of 42 in the L-16 maintenance manual.

Thanks Nathan to the link on the L16 manual. There's a lot more than just cables in the manual and now I have a copy for info. Thank you again... Gordy
