The drawing listed is a Champion drawing and would only cover the installation. The Consolidaire drawing would have any pertinent information on construction of the items.
When constructed by the Consolidaire drawing and installed by the Champion drawing the installation can be recorded with a log book entry and a W/B calculation.

Yep, that's what I am talking about/looking for.

Does anybody know where I could get drawings etc so I could make up a set? Or buy them if not outrageaously priced But somehow I'd think they are a bit hard to find and thus expensive.

Are there more photo's close up at different angles that I could get e-mailed to me?

Here's a picture I took at Oshkosh 2005.

I had a set on my Champ back when I bought it in 1985. I thought they were ugly and just big air scoops. They were beat up and not in very nice shape, I think I sold them for $20.00 to someone in the area. Today I would not sell them but I wouldn't put them on my plane either.

I know they were on my plane back in the early 70's because I have a picture I took back when it was red and white at that time.
Imagine having a picture of the plane you will someday own 13 years later.

I've owned one of my planes over 20 years.

Its a Cessna 172 and I just can't bring myself to sell it. Darn thing has taken me all over the US and its fairly economical and really never had a problem with it.

Actually, I woudn't doubt they produce as much lift as they do drag. They look like itty bitty wings to me.

I am curious about how much they may weigh.

last time it was $20.00 to ship texas - ohio. They are not painted but you could try them on for looks.

They look lie the wheel fenders that were on the early straight wing Stinson's of the 1930's era. Took a set off my 1031 Stinson JR-S years ago when I still had it. They looked ok on the Stinson but looked out of porportion on a Champ. Some Champs have had wheel pants adapted to them--but I would not want them in areas where there is snow or on soft grass runways.

Thanks a lot for the generous offer. But I don't think I will be in a position to build them that quick. (by the first of the year).

I will keep you in mind if I need a pattern when I undertake the mission to make or add these to my bird.

This winter I have to track down a "crud in my Aux Tank" issue. I think it is old sloshing material and will require the removal of the aux tank I think. This will probably be a time sucker for this winter's project. It may be further compoicated by the fact that I think parts are missing from the fuel gauge and looks to be glued together rather than the nice star nut in place. It doesn't seem to leak, but it may not be easy to get apart either!

Just to clarify my reponse posted earlier, in 1985 looking at the beat up fenders on my plane, I did think they were ugly.
Now some 23 years later I don't think they are all that bad, especially the ones that are restored to new.

I didn't want anyone to think that I was insulting them or trying to change their mind on the fenders.
Although you still might have to twist my arm to get me to put them on my Champ.

I'm not saying they are beautiful either just practical.

I currently have a flat plate disc that covers the wheel hub. Looks good and is simple. But it flings dirt and stuff onto the bottom of the wings.

Wheel pants I like the look of fine. But living in WI and intending to fly in the winter, wheel pants with ice/snow packing is not practical and I don't want to put them on in the summer and remove them in the winter. Especially when the spring is when the stuff will really fling off the wet grass!

So these fenders seem practical in that it stops all the flinging stuff off the tires and also won't have to be put on and off seasonally.

The only downside is that I won't be able to stand on the tire to fuel up or wash the window without a stool or ladder.
