Champ's Gone...Remorseful already!

Post by SATCFI »

Well,

I flew my Champ up to Marysville Ohio (from San Antonio) over the weekend to her new owner. The trip was great, the weather was great, but the feeling of leaving her there was not. I know it was the right decision, but still feeling a little melancholy.

The good news was it was purchased by someone with a passion for these old planes. He owns an FBO and will offer LSA training in it. His other instructor is a man in his 80's who was the Chief CFI at OSU for ever, teaching in Champs. Great FBO with quality folks there. It should be a good fit. If you're ever in Marysville, stop in and see them.

Anyone have a lead on a good constant speed Decathlon?

Thanks and best regards,

Brad

That hurts a lot!!! But life is change.
And it is usually for the better.
We can still share Mooney stories.

SATCFI.....Champ gone

Brad, Glad you made the trip OK. Thought about you most of the weekend and wondered how things went. I'm sure it hurt to leave 'Old Faithful Champ' behind  . Funny how we can get so attached to metal and fabric objects. I enjoyed the rides we had looking over the Texas landscape. That was one of the nicer, orginal Champs I've seen. Good luck with your search for a new flying machine and we'll see you at OSH if not before :D .

Mike,

Maybe I did something wrong but when I clicked on your ink, it was just a list of registered 8KCABs around the nation. Didn't see anytying which indicated a sale.

Thanks,

Brad

Mike,

I've sent you a couple of PMs but have heard nothing from you. Can you please give me details on the Utah Decathlon?

Thanks,

Brad
