Wind Generator Wanted
Wind Generator Wanted
Need a wind generator, working is great but not necessary as long as it is somewhat complete, going on a 1941 super chief, thanks - Steve
Might keep an eye on Ebay or Barnstormers.
They are fairly rare and when they come up are not cheap. I have one or two here at the house but unfortunately they are not complete.
Made a really good deal on one from a friend a year ago and dammit, the UPS/FedEx people dropped the box so hard that it broke one of the prop blades, so its not useable. Try to find a aluminum prop (three piece, two blades and hub) for a 1940's air generator... its almost impossible.

EDIT,
Did a google search for "aircraft wind generator" for you and came up with this:
http://www.aviation-antiques.com/misc-5.html
The generator shown in the top photo is exactly the same one I have, but with a good prop! Price is $375, and right in the ballpark that they usually go for these days.

Steve,
Curtis Aldridge in CA had some NOS generators for sale. I believe his operation is called Aviation Antiques. He had an operation in the Sierra foothills.
In the back of my dusty brain I recall an old CAR that had to do with the wind generators. If the generator had adjustable blades it required a generator brake. I'll do some looking to find it.

Wind generator wanted
I emailed Curtis and his reply is that he has sold out of the surplus wind generators. However, I now have the generator for a Ward Aero wind generator, all I need is the prop. Thanks for your help!!
