Old Stits epoxy primer

Don't know if this is the right place to post this or not but what the hay!

I have an old quart of Stits epoxy primer. It is about 1/3 remaining and it is still liquid when I shake it in the can. It has been sitting on the shelf for many years. How many? I would estimate since about 1992.

Since this has to be mixed with a 2nd part, is this any good? Or should I just throw it away? It has not frozen to my knowledge.

Reason why I ask is that i have a few small parts I'd like to prime. And I'd like to save a few bucks over buying and hazardous shipping for another quart. If I can avoid it.

I recommend pitching the old material. The manual the shelf lives of the epoxy and catalyst are two and one years respectively.

Agree with Jerry. Anything that old has probably lost some it's 'luster'.

If it sturred up okay, I'd probably use it.

Might splash a little thinner to help mix it up. But I'm a cheapskate...

Catalist on the other hand; when it turns thick and amber color, it's toast.

I have used Stitts epoxy primer that is older than that both green and white. As long as it mixes to a smooth consistenty go for it. Like Nate I'm a cheap butt. Mark

Thanks guys. I think I will try using it.

I should have also mentioned that the part that I'm priming is a clamp on bracket that I can always unclamp and re-do if it doesn't hold up.

I have no catalyst, so I have to buy that anyhow.

The bracket is for the installation of shoulder harness.
