Hey guys. A friend of mine has a Cub with Bendix mags. They don't have an impulse cupling. Can the Bendix accept an impulse cupling or does he have to go to a Slick mag?
Thanks in advance

Re: Bendix Mags
Sky,
You can modify the mags for impulse couplings but it can get expensive. The S4(LorR)N the parts are available. If it's a SF4 lunch box mag it could be tougher. I have never seen but have heard of impulse couplings for these mags. I use the SF4's on the Tandem and don't believe they need impulse's. If these are the installed mags check the point adjustment. If its hard to start hot with the points adjusted replace the coils.

Re: Bendix Mags
Thanks Paul,
My Champ I used to have had the lunchbox type mags. It started fine most of the time, but sometimes I'd do everything the same and it wouldn't start. A cold drink later and it would start first blade. The mags in question on my friends cub are the newer version of my old Bendix mags. They're rebuilt and operate the same as my old worn out mags(meaning most of the time it starts and sometimes nothing). That leads me to believe that an impulse would be nice.
