Wheel crack

I was reading on another thread about wheel cracks. Are they common? I have what I thought was a scratch. It goes across the face but does not go all the way to either edge. I have Goodyears. I asked my a&p & he thought it was probably a scratch but has not seen it. What's the best way to check it?

Have your A&P dye check it. I assume he has the dye check material.
