Toe Brakes

Post by n727gs »

I'd like to talk to anyone who has done a toe brake conversion.
Thanks.

A little more information would get your further. Champ? Chief? Toe brakes were standard on 11CC Chiefs and an option on 11BC Chiefs. These were mechanical (Cleveland Drum or Goodyear Disc) brakes. Do you also want to convert to hydraulic brakes? Also some advice to keep your spam down to a minimum is to list your email as 727gs <at> db3broadband.com or register and use the forums mail system. The web has "crawlers" that look for the pattern ****@****.****

I've got a '60 7FC/EC with Cleveland wheels and brakes. Thanks for the advice and sorry about the confusion.

Steve,
I haven't done a conversion but I have worked on both styles.
I belive I would install a Citabria system. All of the parts are available from ACA and the only welding would be two hoops for the lower mount of the master cylinder. If you can find a Citabria with toe brakes near you it would be worth a look.

Steve,
enjoyed talking to you, don't know if you were able to find
this photo in your search (of the bracket we were talking about).
Wag-Aero does sell this separately if interested.
anyway, here you go...
(disregard the white text & arrows, they were for another post)

Thanks, Jim.

I appreciated the phone call.
Unfortunately, my Bellanca has been keeping me busy with new and exciting hydraulic leaks every time I look at it, I've got an old Datsun project going, and work has been interfering with my progress.

I'm going to swing by ACA when I get a chance.
