Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
I am planning on flying the Southern route (El Paso) then up through Texas, OK and Missouri.
Who else is coming and what route?
Understand several people are wanting to meet at various places and fly formation from there.
Let all get together and make it work!

I'm planning to depart from Ames (AMW) in central Iowa, likely first stop will be Davenport then a stop in Illinois and one in Indiana possibly Marion.

I am planning to attend. I hope to have my Champ done by then. Anyone coming through the western side of West Virginia near Parkersburg is welcome to stop in or stay overnight at Hale's Landing, 2WV3. We have a 3100' grass strip and can accomodate campers. My guess is that 3 or 4 other people from Hale's will also be going to Middletown.

Russ,
Sounds good, lets stay in touch. Correct, am in Phoenix, at Deer Valley airport. Am sure that there will be some others who want to make the trip taking this route.
As well I have full radio and transponder on the Sedan so it makes things a lot easier. That said I usually like to fly to non-controlled airports to not have to mess with all the traffic and so on.

We are on the same wave length. Will stay in touch.
I am in Mesa the first weekend every April for a manditory Confederate Air Force ( I don't like the new name) ground school and will try to touch bases then.
I have a 7AC, 65 hp, hand held radio with and external antenna, no transponder.
Our gaggle flight went Blyth. Buckeye, Mariana and on to Demming for the night.

Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
My last cross country flight that direction went like this:
Phoenix, Wilcox, Las Cruces, Carlsbad NM, Lubbock (Slayton for the Texas Air Museum), Some small airport in Western OK, Springfield MO, another small airport in the Cape area of the bootheel of Missouri, Seymour Indiana, then Hamilton OH, about 15 miles SW of Middlewtown. I overnighted in Slayton TX, Springfield and Middletown. Every airport was non-controlled with multiple runways.
The range on the Sedan is not that good, and after about 2-2:20 I am looking for a place to land. Your range might be a bit longer than mine.
Let me know when you are coming into Falcon Field for the CAF. I am not politically correct either.

Route sounds OK to me.
Yes I do have a slightly longer range but do not push that. Your range is good for me.
My arrival at Mesa depends on when I can get my annual check ride. Sometimes Wednesday and sometimes stay over Sunday or Monday. Will let You know. I also have a friend in Prescott that I like to visit.

Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
Weather permitting, flying the Chief up from Nashville area. Last time, ended up having to drive because of all of that thunderstorm mess. First time I've ever driven to a flyin....ooops...our annual Miata trip through Marion being the exception. If I fly, I'll tent camp (although that motel last time was really nice at the end of the day...hummmm.)
Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
Roger,
Will be good to see you there.
Frankly as I get older, my idea of camping is the Holiday Inn... these old bones just do not do well without a bed and shower.

The Georgia Boys are 0-5 with airplanes right now, but time will tell.
One way or another; I'm certain we'll all make it up!

Nathan,
Just do not forget the Margarita machine!
You better get the Champ up in the air and fly there!
Bring your wife with you this time!

Not exactly on my radar screen yet. Doubt I will be able to have the L16 project up and running by then. Doing interior panels this afternoon . My three year project ha$ turned into 5 (at lea$t). Of course I still have the Champ but wound up flying the Pontiac last time due to the nasty weather enroute. I'm sort of a 'chicken flyer'
.
