That looks like it could be a pretty fair bargain.

That airplane is more of a find than most realize. First off its in pretty good condition. Second an engine with 15 hours since overhaul by LyCon. This had to cost close to $10k.

Lastly there is one thing that makes this plane different from most of the rest. Its a real WW2 warbird that has its complete set of logs and thats very unusual. When the war started the Army Air Corps took most of the civilian airplanes to use for training and so on. After the war often they were returned to their owner but MINUS their logbooks.

For this price hope that someone snaps it up!

If it's as good as it looks it's a heck of a buy. Just what I need.....one more airplane....hmmmm! (That probably wouldn't go over too good on the home front, though  )

One heckuva buy for someone.
If I had the pennies, I get it and save the time and $$ on the 65-CA.
Thanx

Everyone,

I emailed the seller about this thread and he just replied.

The overhaul on the engine cost over $9000, so someone is going to get a very good deal on this plane! If anyone on the list knows of someone looking for a good plane, please pass this along.

The seller is going to pass this thread along to the winner of the auction, so hope he chimes in here once the plane is in new hands.

Looks like someone picked this Chief up. Should have been a good deal at $13,000 from what I could see and read. I forwarded the listing to a friend of mine and it came up sold.

I'll assemble it and fly it to it's new owner. It's about 7 hours South, I need to go to San Diego anyway.

Nice, but a payload of 381 lbs?? Not very practical if you want to stay legal.
