Prop RX for C85-12 on a Champ

Post by RRHaldeman »

I'm planning on use the Lasher STC to add a C85-12 engine to my 1946 7AC Champ.

The Lasher STC authorizes the following propellers:

Sensenich model 72GK44
Sensenich model 72GK46

McCauley Model CM7144
McCauley Model CM7146 PLUS
McCauley Model CM7147

Wood

Any fixed pitch wood propeller may be installed that will maintain static RPM range of 2465 RPM (max.) and 2300 RPM (min). Diameter 72 (max.) and 70” (min.)

I plan to use a metal prop. I would appreciate:
1. Any recommendations on which prop to select;
2. Any recommendations on sources for props.

A 72-44 Sensenich wood prop does a good job on a C85 powered Champ.

True, but I'm planning on using a metal prop.

CM7144

I'll have to check, but I think I called Memphis Propeller for mine. It was drop shipped from the factory and in my hand 2 days after the call.
