Cross the fingers and do more STOP rain dances!!

Post by SFC Hiatt »

Joe A and I are both trying to get to Middletown from Arizona and Oklahoma but mother nature is not currently doing us any favors. Who ever is doing the rain dances please stop for just a couple weeks.

Thanks

Chris,

Have to chuckle at your post. I flew within 50 miles of your location yesterday on the way home and was really watching the fronts along the way.

The WX that you are seeing should be past your area today. After that its clear sailing for the most part and this front will move on and hit Middletown on Tuesday or so. Hopefully this will give us a nice window to have the fly-in and get home again.

The leading edge of the front is already over Jeff City MO and tail end around Ok City, so in a couple of days should be clear for us.

This will be my last post for a bit, heading to the hangar shortly and pulling the plane out.

See everyone in Middletown!

The current Intellicast forecast is revised. It is now showing from Nashville (my starting point) through Middletown to be hot ahd sunny, winds less than 10, beginning Thurs and the next 7 days (Sat does have the chance of a few scattered TRWs). I didn't check other areas but this is a big change from a few days ago.

Believe that the big stuff moved through Middletown last night.

Sure got hit here in Hobbs but its now moved NE and out of my way (hopefully) so heading out in a few minutes once it gets light.

Well, come up here to the upper mid-west then!!!! I have been up 2-3 times in the last 2 months!!! It has either been low cieling or rain here for what seems to be the last couple of months. When I do have a day of sunshine I have other crap to take care of like cutting HIGH grass on the lawn or landing strip. It had gotten over a foot high and I cut it about 8-10 days ago, finally got a day of sunshine yesterday and finally got it cut again hoping to go flying last night or this morning....guess what, It is raining like crazy again.

Isn't that the truth? I just got home from a week up between KGPZ and KFOZ and it rained every single day Even worse, I brought the rain back home to Iowa...we've had close to an inch this morning and it's still raining. If this stuff moves east it will be tough to get anything into Middletown.
