I have some photo's of the Champ with the 2 cylinder Franklin before it was changed over and with the Continental A-65 on it after. If you would like me to try and post them (and I can figure out how to post a photo here ) I would be happy to do so!

I have to admit that I too still have the 2 banger on front of mine also. As mentioned above, cruises at 80+, climbs out about 450-550 fpm at sea level, and in the 850 hours we have owned it have only had one plug foul out. Right over the airport thankfully, never quit, but got really really weak. Almost have it back in the air after a recover job, and really thought about changing to the 65 continental. But, decided to ride my Franklin til she gives me problems. Always gives people something to talk about at fly-ins or breakfast clubs. N9142L has taught myself as well as several of my grandfathers friends how to fly. It has been a pure delight to fly and looking forward to many years enjoyment out of it once again. N9142L has 1213 hours TTSN on engine and airframe.
The only 2A-120A i have seeen was at the Florida Air Museum in Lakeland. Not sure the weight difference, but like said above, every pound left behind sure helps!

Thanks! Atleast until you see the half a engine up front when opening the cowling. Looks like they meant to put a baggage compartment up there but got distracted and forgot....
