STC for 3/32" rivits in wing ribs on a Champ?
STC for 3/32" rivits in wing ribs on a Champ?
Does anyone know if an STC or field approval for 3/32 rivits on a Champ wing ribs? I have a friend that is restoring a 46 7AC and needs some more information. I appreciate all the help and advice.

Stewart Systems at hangar21@verizon.net 1-888-356-7659 in Cashmere, Washington has access to an STC to use 3/32 pull rivets with a separate washer under the rivet head on Champ ribs. I don't know if they own it outright or someone in the area lets them use it but they sent me some of the rivets so I could see if I wanted to use them when I purchased their covering materials. So far I've covered the wings, tail, ailerons, gear legs and bottom of the fuselage and just received 11 yards from Stewart today to begin covering the fuselage sides. I only purchased up thru the gray primer (EkoFill) and have only brushed the 2 cross coats. The 2" pinked tape edges stay down and I have only light sanded the brush coats to removed any lint or particles before they begin to build up. I love not having any fumes in the hangar and no headaches from the outgasing. The EkoBond cement with a 1" lap is tough stuff and haven't been able to pull it apart. I have mounted one of those thin Odessy/Enersys battery boxes using the 7EC 7-1065 drawing for location and #2 cable routing up to the firewall. I won't be using a B&C alternator but will go the recharge route. Get Jerry to move your saturday morning meeting to Dodge Center and I can show you the project.
