My Champ

While perusing a site on the web I found a picture of my old Champ. This is the plane in which I learned to fly. My plane is sitting behind a Cub in this picture. According to the Faa It is now owned by a fella up in New York state. This is a fun site to check out. Have a good time.

David, I take it you are from the Omaha area? My dad rented an Ercoupe at the South Omaha airport in the early 60s. They were not pleased when he destroyed it.

My powder coating shop is only a mile from where the South Omaha airport was. Lots of flying stories around here from that place. Sad really, just cookie cutter houses now....

Josh, I was from Omaha. I live in the mountains of North Carolina now. Harry Dirgo was the flight instructor at the time. I bought the plane for $18oo. $7.50 an hr for the instructor and $.57 for Av Gas. My family still lives in Denison Ia. Not to far from you.
