Brake Cleaner
Re: Brake Cleaner
Its dangerous stuff. Also the freon in A/C systems combined with heat (flames) can make the same gas. This phosgene gas is what was used during WW1 to kill so many soldiers.
Best to be careful with lots of this stuff...

Re: Brake Cleaner
I'll certainly keep that in mind - I just found our local Walmart sells Brake cleaner ridiculously cheap and I bought a dozen cans of it, since it is such incredibly useful stuff. I had no idea it was also that dangerous under the right -wrong?- circumstances.
Re: Brake Cleaner
Pete,
Am the same as you, I use it for loads of things!
Hey, was in Corona last weekend at the airport (and Aircraft Spruce) and looked around for "Aeronca types" but did not see anyone. Saw a tan Champ in a hangar, walked in and found it and several other projects there but no people around. Was helping a friend with a C-180.
Also saw the Aeronca Sedan that evidently has been sitting outside for ages. Sad to see that one sitting there wasting away...
