Hi Charles, Which one are you looking for a picture of? 5.5 gallon or 13 gallon?

Robert,
"The 5.5 gallon tank." Did not know of the 13 gallon aft fuselage aux. tank?

Re: Champ Auxiliary Fuselage Tank
Hi Charles, Guess I learned something new also as I never saw an Aft Aux tank on a Champ. I have an Aux 8 gallon Aft Tank on my Chief, but have only seen nose and wing tanks on Champs. Can't help you with a picture then as I only have the 5.5 gallon wind tank on one wing, on my 7CCM.

Re: Champ Auxiliary Fuselage Tank
Gents,
There are three tanks available normally.
A 5.5, and 13 gallon wing tanks, and believe a 7 gallon fuselage tank.
The fuselage tanks are like McDowell starters, rare as hens teeth.

Re: Champ Auxiliary Fuselage Tank
I have a 13 gallon tank in each of my wings and the 13 gallon header tank and either 2.5, 5 gallon aux tanks (or both)that are behind the rear seat. It is called a gas can.
I have never seen a Champ fuselage tank other than the stock one.

Oops, forgot about that one!
Keith mentioned the "header tank" and thats one on top of the lead pilots knees. Some have them, and some do not.

I know that Lewis Moon in Rockford, IL has a 7AC with a fuselage tank at the back of the cockpit. The N-Number is N1603E. I've seen it.

Re: Champ Auxiliary Fuselage Tank
My Champ, N83806, has the fuselage aux tank. I'll take a picture and try to post it.
Actually, except for the fact I would have to replace the headliner, I would remove
it. I've never used it.

Charles,
I think I know where an aux fuselage tank is. I'll try to get a picture of it for you.
We are talking about the one behind the rear seat. item 106(a) on the TCDS?

Re: Champ Auxiliary Fuselage Tank
Charles - I received a pair of the 5 (or 5.5 gal) aux tanks from WagAero this week. I will make digital photos and send you same Sat/26FEB. I need your e-mail for attachments as I have only posted photos on this website w/Joe's help. WagAero has back ordered the aluminum fuel tubing, everything else was delivered in about 7 days. I will also copy the paperwork if you require. Look for my PM to you concerning the wing tip nav light mounting brackets - sent 30 minutes ago. Orlan Franks (713) 410-0381

Charles,
The tank is a 5.5 gallon tank that is mounted over the baggage compartment. The tank is part #/Drawing # 7-556. The tank installation drawing is 7-565. I can send these to you diredt. They are big files. I know I have pictures somewhere. I'll dig them out. I was going to have one made, and then I found one. I had even done it in Cad so that I could figure out what the flat pieces of metal needed to be. My cardboard mock-up fit pretty well. I want to say only about 150 Champs left the factory with these.
Mine isn't mounted yet so I can take some pictures of it.

I have the drawing. I need pictures to understand the intersection of the 1.750" radii at the front lower corners under the filler neck. Also of the fuel gage area.
Thanks
