side window installation

What is the best method to use when installing the rear side windows in a Champ?
My old ones were kind of a mixed bag. I have new frames, cover and headliner, and don't want to have to deal with leaks. I have seen some done with foam tape, and some with putty tape.

When I return to C77 in mid-May, I will be faced with the same task. Installing side windows in a refurbished Champ. I was planning to use a type of clear silicone caulk and then screwing the metal fairings over the window. It worked for me what I resealed by Skylane side and rear windows ten years ago, so I think it should work on my Champ. OTOH, if anyone has actual experience and a better idea, let's hear from you.

Made and installed new windows recently. Set them in clear silicone for plexiglass (from Home Depot). Held in place with the metal frames. Do not drill thru plexiglass, the frames hold it in place just fine. Of course, I haven't flown mine yet, they might blow out on the first flight.
